Label size guide
Measure the flat face of the lid, jar, or bag, then pick a size that stays inside that area. These are the sizes we print now — each shape has its own listing, with no made-to-measure custom size.
How to measure
- For a lid, measure the inner flat circle edge to edge. Skip the raised rim.
- For a jar face, measure only the straight band. Ignore the curve at the shoulder and the base.
- Cut the size from paper, tape it on, and look from arm’s length. If it hangs over a curve, go smaller.
Measure the flat lid face, not the rim.
Trim vs. safe area
Build your file at the finished label size. Background color can run all the way to the edge. Keep logos, type, and barcodes about 1/8 inch inside the cut so nothing gets trimmed.
- Outer edge = trim (the cut)
- Dashed line = keep type inside (~1/8")
Artwork that prints clean
- 300 DPI at actual size (or vector).
- PDF, PNG, or AI — we also take EPS, SVG, and JPG.
- One design per roll. We’ll email a proof before anything prints.

Start-your-order listings use the sizes below. A few specialty products add a related size (noted under the table).
| Shape | Sizes | Fits well on |
|---|---|---|
| Circle | 1.5", 2", 2.5" | Lids, jar tops, thank-you dots |
| Square | 1.5", 2", 2.5", 3" | Tins, boxes, bag fronts |
| Rectangle | 3×1, 2×3, 2×4, 3×4 | Bottle faces, bags, boxes |
| Oval | 2×3, 2×4 | Jars and bottles with a softer edge |
- 3" circles are on our candle labels listing.
- A 1×1 square lives on bag-seal labels.
- Use-case listings (honey, hot sauce, spice jars, and similar) use related sizes from this set. Shop the sizes on that product.
- We also print a few arch sizes. They are not in Start your order.
